What is Kealoha Living is about

Hi there!

I’m Sahar but let’s skip formalities and go to the fun part. 
If you told my 13-year-old self that one day I’d have an art business in US, Hawai’i, I would have laughed and gone back to doodling on my math homework. And yet—here we are! 

I grew up in Iran, where my love for art started early. But having a dream? That was tricky. In Iran when you have a dream it is more likely you don’t reach your potential, and the system doesn’t support you. Especially as a woman we are not trained to have a dream and be who we are. Over time, we learn not to dream. I spent years under repression without even realizing it, trying to be “practical.” But let’s just say—my soul wasn’t having it. Something inside me was restless, always searching for joy, peace, and something deeper, like freedom. So, in pursuit of that freedom (and maybe a little adventure), I moved to the U.S. After a couple of years living in different states, I found Hawai’i through my landscape architecture course, and I moved here. The nature, the Aloha spirit, the plants, it all felt like I had found a home. And just like that, I found my passion again in art and in painting Hawaiian plants.

I started Kealoha Living because I love exploring my passions and making things with my hands. Painting, crafting, designing—it makes me feel alive, curious, and connected. Kealoha means ‘the loved one’ or ‘the love’ in Hawaiian, and that’s exactly what I want my art to feel like: a warm hug, a deep breath, a little reminder that beauty is everywhere.
