Ginger scent expression

This piece is inspired by my morning walks in summer, when yellow ginger flowers are in bloom all around where I live in Volcano. They’re beautiful to look at—but what truly gets me is their delicate, sweet scent. It’s soft and magical, like the quiet space between night and day. 
I painted this in watercolor with pen and pencil, using more defined lines for the flower but letting the background stay dreamy and expressive. The base is bright yellow, rising into a deep blue sky—like that moment just before the sun fully rises. It’s not a literal scene, but more a feeling… the way the air smells, how peaceful everything feels, and how that flower's fragrance makes you stop and smile. 
"Yellow Ginger" is my way of expressing something delicate and simple that brings me joy. I hope it makes you feel that, too.
