Black sand beach morning

This piece captures a magical moment from one of my favorite places—Punaluʻu, the black sand beach on Hawai‘i Island. But instead of the ocean view, it focuses on what you see when you turn around: a large pond filled with vivid purple flowers, framed by tall, swaying palm trees. It felt like nature had painted its own masterpiece, and I wanted to honor that scene with my own. 
Painted in acrylic on canvas, this piece was inspired by a quiet summer morning. I felt calm and playful, exploring color and brushstrokes in a more impressionistic way. It’s not just a memory of a place, but a reflection of how deeply connected I feel to it—something I hope others sense too.
